摘要_英文 An approach to direction.of_arrival(DOA)estimation for multiple narrowband farfleld signals is proposed. The techIlique uses a ncIvel matrix spatial prefiltering approach.SpecmcaUy,a matriX fllter is designed to spatiaUy 6lter the incoming data snapshots.The unwanted components arriving flom the stopband angular sectors are attenuated and the desired components from the angular sector of interest pass with minimal distortion.The matrb【filter spatially filters the element-space data and the output reserves the eIement-space data property,which makes it very 11sefm by passing seor data tkough a spatial prefllter prior to plying mally other array processors to attenuate interferences aIld iⅡlprove system performance.Several exples of DOA estimation problem are presented to illustrate the performance of the proposed spatial prefiltering approach.Results of simulation and real data show that the premter can emciently attenuate the spatial interferences and sigmflcantly improve the estimation and resolution capabiliy of DOA estimators at 10w signal-to_noise ratios for the soces located
inside the passband sector.In addition,the use of spatial prefilter makes it possible to estimae OAs for multiple sources more than the number of the elements of an arr ay.
