2009年4月18日，世界著名学府英国剑桥大学下属的语音实验室负责人Phil Woodland 教授、Mark Gales博士以及俞凯博士一行到声学所进行学术交流访问。
Phil Woodland等人首先来到中科信利语音实验室观看了实验室的语音演示系统，并就细节问题和相关人员进行探讨。随后，Phil Woodland 教授以及Mark Gales博士分别就剑桥大学语音实验室目前最新的语音识别技术《Discriminative Training and Adaptation of Speech Recognition Systems》和《Model-Based Approaches to Speaker and Environment Adaptation》向老师学生做了学术报告。会后，师生和Phil Woodland等人齐集一堂，面对面就相关研究过程中遇到的问题进行讨论和交流。
剑桥大学语音实验室是当今语音识别研究领域的世界一流实验室。他们在过去十几年的时间里基本囊括了每年美国NIST语音识别评测的第一名，他们所著的开源软件HTK（http://htk.eng.cam.ac.uk/）是目前国际上流传最广泛的语音研究工具包。此次剑桥大学语音实验室来声学所进行的学术访问，增进了我所和世界一流语音实验室的相互交流和相互了解，有助于扩大声学所在语音研究领域的影响。
